From English schools to an AI tutor
For six years, my co-founder Emil Mammadov and I ran physical English language schools. That work grew into Enverson Colleges, an education group with campuses in Baku, Sumgait and Plymouth.
Running classrooms teaches you where learners actually get stuck. Grammar and vocabulary can be studied alone. Speaking cannot. Learners need someone to talk to, and in a classroom every student only gets a few minutes of speaking time per lesson.
The pivot
That gap is why we turned the company into Enverson AI, a voice first AI English tutor. Instead of tapping through exercises, learners practice real conversations out loud, whenever they want, for as long as they want.
We launched the product in January 2025.
What carried over
Most of what we learned in physical schools still applies:
- Speaking practice is the part learners get least of, so it is the part the product focuses on.
- Learners stick with practice that feels like a real conversation, not a test.
- Teaching experience shapes the product. We are building from years in classrooms, not from a whiteboard.
